Mandago Attacks Kabogo in Latest Onslaught Against Opponent Buzeki as Battle for Uasin Gishu Votes Intensifies

With slightly over two months left to the much awaited general elections, every aspirant is gearing up for the beginning of campaigns, which officially kicks off from tomorrow Sunday 28, 2017.
Its all systems go as political aspirants from political parties as well as the Independent candidates are getting ready to hit the campaign trail again in their respective areas.
Counties with the most attention include Nairobi, Kiambu, Mombasa, Uasin Gishu and Machakos, seeing as the incumbents are facing stiff competition from their strongest rivals especially after the shambolic nominations that were carried out in April, where some candidates expressed their disappointment after being rigged out by their competitors.
In Kiambu, this was the case as Governor William Kabogo came out early enough to announce and report the malpractices that were going on even before the tallying of votes began.

After his sentiments went unattended to by the Jubilee party officials and tribunal, Kabogo decided to vie as an Independent candidate, and went further to bring together other independent candidates forming the Kenya Alliance of Independent Candidates, which is now a force to reckon with.
In Uasin Gishu county, the same was felt especially in the gubernatorial and senatorial nominations where incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago was declared winner in what has now been described as a flawed win, over his strongest rival businessman Zedekiah Bundotich aka Buzeki, who has since gone independent as well.
It is this decision by his rival that has caused Mandago even more headaches as he had imagined Buzeki would not come back after losing in the nominations – but Buzeki has vowed not to relent.
Mandago has been known to be the ‘high priest of propaganda’ in the county, owing to his words when he said that Buzeki is Deputy President William Ruto’s project, to oust him.
However, this was proven wrong during separate TV interviews where both DP Ruto and Buzeki denied his allegations.
Mandago has now come out criticizing the KAIC and its officials, alleging that Kabogo has since ‘recruited Buzeki into drug dealing’, a matter that has not been taken lightly by the candidates.

The governor claims that since the two came together in the new alliance of independent candidates, they are displaying an uncanny relationship, which Mandago is not very comfortable with.
Political pundits have noted that those who rigged their way in during the party primaries will have an uphill task reclaiming their seats or winning the elections as they know this time those ‘cooked figures’ will not work in their favor.
Uasin Gishu residents have strongly warned Mandago and leaders allied to him such as Alfred Keter of Nandi, and Oscar Sudi of Kapseret, against using malicious statements to undermine and malign Buzeki.
“Let Buzeki be, and let’s meet again on the ballot come 8.8.2017. Competition is real, real men compete fairly,” said a group of residents.
Mandago seems to have taken over the mantle of propaganda king from his social media robots and campaign team, spreading malicious rumors against KAIC and Buzeki, going as far as enjoining Kiambu Governor in his fictitious stories.
Buzeki and Hon. Kabogo are back in the race for their respective counties due to the electorates’ demands, as they are in the business of serving the people and not in any other “business” as propagated by Mandago.
Mandago had earlier claimed that Buzeki was DPs project. He then changed the goal post and claimed that Buzeki and Hon. Kabogo have a plan to oust the DP in 2022, and finally he says they are working together in drug trafficking.
The residents added that Mandago needs to get his facts straight and stick to his campaign if he wanted to gain back the trust of the people, reiterating that Buzeki is the people’s choice for Governor of Uasin Gishu county 2017.
Leaders across the political divide have cautioned Kenyans to be vigilant and sieve the information they get from agitated “leaders”and those who are already sensing defeat.
