The Uasin Gishu gubernatorial nominations are just around the corner.
Several contestants for the top county seat including the incumbent Jackson Mandago, his strongest rival Kiprop Bundotich aka Buzeki, Dr. Edward Serem, and Felix Butit are gearing up for what residents have now said is a ‘two horse’ race between Mandago and Buzeki.
Today, the governor will be holding a rally at Ziwa ward, where the famous Ziwa Declaration was made about a week ago, with thousands of residents vowing to support Buzeki for the gubernatorial seat come April 21st 2017, when the Jubilee party primaries will be held.
Mandago is expected to arrive anytime for the meeting today, however, there are reports that the preparations have been marred by infighting amongst his supporters.
Intel from the ground has leaked to the press revealing that the governor hired a bunch of goons from his own team to cause chaos and disrupt his meeting, then blame it on Buzeki.
This has angered the residents of Ziwa ward who have strongly condemned the act saying they will not vote for him especially after knowing about his scare tactics to get sympathy votes from the community.
“We know what he is up to and we already know who we want as our governor, it is Buzeki tosha for us,” chanted the residents.
