Finland has made history after choosing Sanna Marin, 34 as its new Prime Minister.
Marin is not only the youngest Prime Minister but also the third female PM in the history of the European country.
”Sanna Marin, 34, from the dominant Social Democrats, was chosen by her party as the sole candidate for prime minister on Sunday,” Reuters reported.
Katri Kulmuni, 32, was also picked to head the Finance docket.
Finland now has the youngest female-run government.
In addition, four of the five ruling political parties in the country are women-led and are all working in a coalition to jointly run the country.
The new PM has been on a fast rise to the top starting at City Council of her hometown, Tampere which she headed at the age of 27.
She revealed that her motivation was not based on societal definitions or opinions of where one should be placed in society but about what one stands for.
