Joseph Irungu alias Jowie speaks out on life behind bars, quest for freedom.

Jowie spoke about his woes in solitary confinement where he has been denied a chance to interact with other prisoners and wardens. His family has been travelling from Nakuru to Kiambu county every Tuesday to see him for only 10 minutes as is the rule. He said his prison experience has shown him who his true friends.

Jowie was arrested in connection to murder of businesswoman Monicah Kimani together with his rumoured lover Jacque Maribe who was granted bail.

He was denied bail on the grounds that he is a flight risk Life in prison is obviously not easy for anybody, but Jowie Irungu who is being held in connection to the murder of businesswoman Monicah Kimani has gone through double the agony in solitary confinement.

Jowie does not get to interact with other inmates, have visitors for more than 10 minutes and worse, he spends time in absolute solitude ‘dealing with his ghosts’ as he calls them.
